Welcome to my Blog. I am a long time wine lover that at one time owned a large wine cellar and 375 bottles of various wines from around the world. That was in a former life. I had been away for 15 years but have just become interested in wines again and want to discuss wines, wine cellars, etc.
I have several social media sites  Fine Wines News/ Facebook , Twitter @Wines_News  and   Fine Wine News.com  Please visit my other sites and read great articles from wine aficionado’s  world-wide.
I try to do a wine review weekly of wines that my wife and I have discovered in our local wine shops. Some are very good and some we might not buy again. The fun is in tasting wines from around the world and their subtle variations.

Wine Reviews: Saint Cosme 2013 Cotes-Du-Rhone

We did our first wine review Thanksgiving 2015. It is Saint Cosme 2013 Cotes-Du-Rhone. I did not pronounce the name correctly in the video,it is ( San Kom Kote doo Rone) My video’s will get better I promise. The winery dates back to 1490 and has some of the oldest vines in the region. Louis Barruol’s family have owned the estate for generations but it is only he took over that it has started to fulfill its potential.
It was a delightful wine (almost 100% syrah) with a flowery red berry, plum peppery nose. It’s color was a dark red, good clarity with just a touch of sediment. The flavor was plum, pepper, earthy. We enjoyed it to the last drop.
Wine Spectator gave a rating of 89 out of 100 to the 2013 St.-Cosme Côtes du Rhône Region: Southern Rhône Country: France, The price varies from $14.00 – $19.00 a bottle. 750ml.
